Well, hello and welcome back to another Media Firestorm case study. I’m Angel Tuccy, one of the co-founders of Media Firestorm. And you know, we just love to highlight the experience um and superstars that are going through the Media Firestorm program. And so, we’re bringing you another incredible case study.

Michelle Michelle, actually, I didn’t ask you how you pronounce your last name before I slaughter it. Um, no. Michelle Chung Michelle Chong. Okay.

See, I was close, but I didn’t trust myself. I didn’t trust myself. And I should have, right? Always trust your intuition. Well, we have Michelle Chong here, right? And I get to just call her Michelle.

Um, happy to introduce to you to her, tell her tell for her to tell you her experience of going through Media Firestorm. She has just graduated from her first 30 days and so excited to hear what that experience has been like for her. So, Michelle, welcome. Thank you for taking the time out today to join us.

Hello. Thank you for having me. I am so honored and blessed and um yeah, grateful. Thank you so much.

You are so welcome and I’m so grateful too for you taking your time to do this with us. So um I’m going to ask you just a few questions about your experience through Media Firestorm. I’m going to pin you so that everybody gets to see you from here on out because you are the superstar of this show. Um Michelle, just tell us a little bit.

Give us a name, where you’re from, and a little bit about your business. Yeah. Um I’m Michelle Chong. Um, I’m based in Sydney, Australia.

Uh, my business is, um, a coaching business specifically to help women find their soulmate, meet their ideal partner without having to do the dating thing. So, I, um, pretty much started a couple of years ago. Um, I used to live in Spain. Um, so across continents, and I’m reaching all over the world basically.

Oh my gosh, how fun is that? Like just like business aside, helping people find their mate without going through the dating process sounds I don’t I don’t know. It sounds unique, right? Sounds very challenging. Like can that actually be done, but how cool for you, right? Thank you. Thank you.

I love it. So, let’s talk a little bit. What were you What were you doing for marketing? How were you use, you know, how were you growing your business before you joined Media Firestorm? Great question. So, um I’ve been in many many different coaching groups.

to spend a lot of money on personal growth and u business coaching. Um I I’ve been using Facebook ads which I’ve been getting really good at. However, not getting really good quality leads. So the first thing that uh you guys had me do was pretty much um email my list.

So I was like, “No, that list is dead to me that they don’t respond. I’m emailing them every week with my podcast and I’m getting no love on Instagram and um you know, LinkedIn. Let’s not even go there.” But um it was pretty much you know just using the paid ads because I found um you know and that’s one of my strengths. I used to be a a designer so it it worked really well to do the copyrightiting and the marketing that way.

Um and not really much organic. And then I’d had my podcast um it’s it’s probably 2 years now. I’m in my second season and um that seemed to be doing well. People were coming in.

I was actually getting um sales from my podcast. I’m like, and my partner said to me, “Oh, you should focus on your podcast this year.” I’m like, “Huh, okay. Um, why not? I I I like it. Um, I think it’s it’s a good way to get that organic u reach.

Um, the the Instagram stuff, I you know, I’m not even sure how that’s going. Um, but the podcast seemed to be getting people actually replying back to my email saying, “Oh, that was that was a really good one. Uh, I really resonated with that episode.” Um, so that’s really what I was doing. Okay.

So, we you came in and we told you start emailing start emailing your list um inviting you to get booked on other people’s podcasts. How quickly were you able to see a result from the strategies that we were teaching you? Yeah. So, it was something that I’d um heard from other business mentors to email your list and it was one of the things that I think we we resist the most because we’re like I’m going to bother them. I’m I’m going to annoy them and you know I’m already emailing them once a week and then it’s like isn’t it obvious they know what I do then why wouldn’t they just reach out to me and you you have all this stuff going through your mind and then when getting on calls with you guys it was like um just follow this template and just you know reach out to them and I was shocked because um I actually started getting calls booked in and I thought you know this list is dead to me right and um these not the right people I’ve I’ve had this um advertising that’s bringing in um these particular group of um you know this audience that’s that’s not buying from me and then that you know they’re not responding.

And then all of a sudden I was getting booked calls. So I guess within um the first two weeks within that 30-day period I was starting to get booked calls. I was getting on calls with an audience that you know felt cold but they were you know I was able to speak to them about their problems. I was about I was able to show them my offer.

um I had a few actually sales so I I was pretty happy with that and um it gave me confidence to keep going and I think that’s what you what you need because you can be so exhausted from no result no signs of life no one like you know out there crickets and it can be like a lonely journey so I think it was really cool being able to yeah get on that community in school and just say, “Hey, I’m having this issue.” You can I’ve always been connecting with people worldwide cuz I’ve always lived in, you know, remote locations or not where entrepreneurs hang out. Um, so I think having that support and um and also I think one of the main things was like I think I get quite emotional cuz like I don’t know whether it’s my period coming or like I’m getting these results and you go you just want to blow it up and go it doesn’t work and I think that’s one of the things I can pivot really quickly. It’s one of my greatest strengths, but then I pivot too quickly and then um Jamie was just telling me today um we need to focus on that longer term plan, but then you don’t know if that longer term plan is going to work. And so you invest all that time and then figure out you’re going in the wrong direction.

And I think that’s one of the greatest um things about you guys. It’s like you guys have been there so you can see which direction is actually the wrong one and say focus on that one, not on that one. And I think that’s been a really big help because I didn’t know what that right direction looked like. I thought I was going on that.

And then if you stay on that wrong direction too long, then obviously you waste but just that last sentence I think I might have missed. I think it kind of froze up for a minute. Um Okay. Yeah.

Do you remember what you said? Having somebody to actually tell you which is the correct direction and just to stay on that path is invaluable because as an entrepreneur you think you’re going in the right way and you’re testing and testing and you don’t know how quickly you’re supposed to get your results and if you’re results are telling you one thing yet you pivot too quickly and that’s my problem. Um you end up going in the wrong direction. So the most valuable thing is just to be told that you’re going the right way and just to stick with it. I love it.

I love And I love that you’re able to come in and get that answer and that we can provide that support because you’re right like it’s it’s almost like a catch 22. I need to stick with this long enough to see if it’s going to work, right? And not keep changing things, but if I’m if I’m on the wrong path, how far down the path do I need? Yeah. All all of that. So, um, now so going forward right now, we have direction.

We have support. You’ve seen you’ve seen some results. Um, how does that make you feel? And what do you think that’s going to do for the longevity and the the the the growth of your business? I feel a lot more peace of mind. Uh, feel a lot more calm because when you’re directionless, it it can be a downward spiral.

Um, I think just having that support and someone to say to you, “This is good, this is bad. let’s just look at the metrics and then decide and not get all carried away with the emotions. Um I think that is super super helpful and um that that’s helped create a lot more um calmness because of that that um that assurance of you know the direction is the right way. Yeah.

Well, you’ve you’ve been so I mean your your business is so much fun and watching you shift and change and get this dialed in is really exciting for us, too. Do you remember, Michelle, how did you find us? I found you from Facebook. Um I’m I’m not even on Facebook that much, but uh I found I think I just looked up um podcast guests or something and then your group was there. Oh, no.

I was no I actually asked somebody and I said um you know how are you getting guests or how are you getting on to other people’s podcast and they said oh there’s groups on Facebook here’s the links for for them and I think um one of them or both of them was your group and I saw you had like a ton of um members in there so so it’s like cool this looks awesome and then started receiving your emails and at first I was like oh this is annoying more emails everyone’s sending emails and I didn’t look at them for, you know, a couple of weeks or two weeks or something and then I I think just one of them caught my eye. Um, and I booked a call and it was with Jenny and she’s amazing and she said she’d uh she’s been where I want to go. So, I felt very confident. I’m like, well, if they’ve hired her as their sales team, then they must know what they’re doing.

Um, then I felt quite confident uh to move forward with you guys. And it it was a gap in my coaching um uh learning that I needed which is more um the one-on-one help like actually getting a hot seat without waiting hours for hundreds of other people to get their turn. Uh that small group is really um that small group is really really valuable. Yeah, we love it.

We love the intimacy of it. Did you have any doubts or fears along the way? And if you did, Michelle, what made you say yes anyways? Um, I think it was the right time for me. I I was looking for some guidance with the podcasting and getting more organic reach and I think it was just getting on the sales call with Jenny uh was helping me reassure me that I was talking to the right people because I think you’ve been doing this long enough you know immediately who knows more than you and who doesn’t. So I think that gave me a lot of confidence to move forward.

I don’t think there was any particular fears. Um I think you just have to be ready. Yeah, it is it is a big jump right to say I want to I want to get booked every week. I want to scale my business.

I want to grow which is really who we are designed for, right? That author, that speaker, that coach is looking for more exposure and more visibility consistently. And Michelle, you’re you’re just knocking it out of the park. I love what you’re doing. I’m watching your success and it’s exciting for for Jamie and I to to watch and and to see you grow.

Um, so let’s uh oh actually one more question and then I want to give everybody a chance to connect with you as well. What would you tell someone who is watching and is unsure about taking the next step with us? Oh, I’ve been doing that for you. I’ve been marketing your group. I’ve been telling other podcast hosts to come and join your group because I think it’s like a really if you’re serious about podcasting, you’re serious about organic growth and serious about growing your business and actually making money, I think this is the right way to go.

Um, so every time I speak with a podcast host, I’m already like promoting you guys. I love it. I love it. All right.

Well, we got to put give you a, you know, a referral bonus for for all of that and get you plugged into store, right? Yeah. I can’t wait. Okay, Michelle, you have a really fun business. You have a unique business offering that I think is so exciting.

So, tell our audience a little bit more about the audience you serve and how they can connect with you. This is one of the things that um you guys have helped me with because I was trying to serve all women and um Jamie particularly gave me the idea that I need to focus on high achieving women and these are women like myself and I’ve been in the same boat. So that specificity in the messaging um means that I’m serving high achieving women who either run your own business or work in corporate and you’re being given traditional dating advice that doesn’t work for you. And also that dating is obsolete.

Dating really doesn’t work anymore. So, I’m helping women to meet their ideal partner without doing the dating thing because I think that’s actually what frustrates and annoys people the most is that, you know, having to do that whole marketing for yourself and generate your own leads for love and it feels like so much work. So, I’m using my 5 years of experience being single myself and also 5 years in business to actually help women shortcut that process and really hack finding love. Simple, but not easy.

But I do have that process that makes it really simple. How do we connect with you? How do they get more information? Yeah, absolutely. I have a free master class. So, that’s teaching women the three steps to meet your ideal partner without dating live and in person.
